I would check out the prices first as they are two years old. I know the Rhodes Ferry was £60.00 last year, 2012 and may go up this year.

Also, keeping in mind current news from abroad, make sure you take out extra travel insurance for any hazardous sports, which include Jeep Safari,Paragliding,Microlight Flights,Canoeing,Horse Riding,Quad Biking etc,

All will only carry insurance for Turkey and will not cover any extras, such as flights home if you have to cancel your regular flight etc.,

Hi Vicki

A trip to Saklikent Gorge, is a must and a great day out.

The boat trips are good too. Enjoyed the Gocek one a lot, it gives you a taster and a chance to see and wonder around this beautiful little town.

Here is a link to excursions, trips and prices provided by Thomson.

Of course, its possible many of the excursions listed can be done independantly or cheaper with local operators.

However, the link does give a good indication of what is on offer in the resort.

Dear AngelaSurry

Thanks for the information

Can you advise if these prices are in general and easy to find no need to book in advance

Or there is a specific agency for such day trips

Thanks again

I have just returned from Turkey and spent some time in Fethiye. I can highly recommend the day trip from Fethiye to Rhodes. It took approx 2.5 - 3 hours on the hydrofoil, costing around 60E per adult using http://www.yesildalyantravel.com/en/fethiye/ which departs from the Marina at 9 in the morning, returning around 5 or 6. Rhodes was very interesting and we spent the day exploring the fort, castle, markets and there are many, many cafes, restaurants etc.

I would also recommend a day trip (or longer if possible, we spent 2 nights) in Dalyan. It's a beautiful place, located on the river, with an excellent vibe. You can take a boat to the beach and hang out, swim etc during the day, the turtles come in at night, look around the markets and shops, wander the river and check out the temples/ruins in the cliffs or just relax in a bar, cafe, restaurant on the river. Whilst we were eating dinner in one of these restaurants on the river a massive turtle appeared and hung around for 20 mins or so!

We also went to Oludeniz and whilst I wasn't a fan of the town itself, there was a nice beach with swimming areas, lot's of activities available like para gliding, turkish baths and again packed with cafes and restaurants. We were there to do the Lucian Way walk, starting from Oludeniz and ending up at Butterfly Creek. It took us around 6-7 hours and we returned on the dolmus (local bus). We couldn't actually get down to Butterfly Creek as it was too steep but the walk itself was spectacular, with stunning views over the bays.
