Tour - mud baths, turtles & rock tombs

Hi Everyone,

I'm reading that many people are doing combined tours from Marmaris or Feithye for the mud baths, turtles & rock tombs ...

Can these destinations be done individually on their own using public transport or dolmus?

Cheers :)

Hi DogMinder

Have a look through this brilliant site, it answers your questions. Ortaca is quite a nice town too, enjoyed walking around there for an hour or so, very local feel.

You can see the rock tombs in Fethiye which are actually at the back of the town and easy to reach, there is also an ampitheatre near the marina. If you wish you can catch the dolmus to Tlos to see more rock tombs and ruins including and another ampitheatre. There was a find at Tlos last year of Roman Statues which are in the Museum in Fethiye.

There is also a turtle santuary at Calis Beach and they come onshore to lay their eggs very September.

I know that lots of tour companies run trips to the Mud Baths so it's probably possible to catch a bus yourself to them.

Thanks everyone for your words of wisdon & links - will look at doing the destinations separate rather than as part of a tour, especially the turtle sancturary :))
