we did not read about every tour operator when we were on holiday, there are so many, and when we were told that they are TURSAB approved you feel that they maybe OK? I now know "TURSAB" counts for nothing.

Only go with jeeps that have forward facing seats and seat belts.

To say that there were no serious injuries on this accident is ridiculous - people have needed plates, pins and plastic surgery. The jeep company only had regular road insurance. The trip was booked independently so their travel operator had no obligation to help out - although they actually did assist the injured guests in many ways.

Unfortunately, despite all the current hoohaa, there was yet another accident in Marmaris yesterday, and until these ridiculous trips are banned there will continue to be regular accidents every day / week / month / season. People will continue to book these trips, continue to sit in these jeeps with too many people and without seat belts (even when they are fitted most people admit to not using them) and only complain when yet another accident happens and they get hurt. They will also continue to refuse to accept any part of responsibility for their own safety - yet no one forces you not to wear a seat belt or to sit in an overcrowded jeep.

Many tour companies do not toouch jeep safaris because they are hugely and notoriously dangerous.
