change money next Saturday or Sunday

As I arrive late next Saturday night and the transfer from the airport is already arranged by the hotel, I do not need any liras before Sunday. Can I change money in de center of Goreme on a Sunday or do I change at the airport?

Thanks,

Frank

The airport offices give a poor rate of exchange but you should still change up just a very small amount intoTL.You are sure to need something maybe for tips or to buy a bottle of water etc.(perhaps at the airport next day). Then change more once in Goreme where you'll get a better rate.

In Göreme both the bank and the post office are closed at weekends so there are only some shop which offer currency exchange and the rates are as bad if not worse than at the airport. However, there are many ATMs in Göreme, so cash withdrawal is probably the best option at weekends.

Thanks both of you. Will check the rate at the airport and then decide. Official rate is 2.513 lira for 1 euro. I they give 2.44 it is the same as a creditcard (2.5 % costs).
