Weather early March

looking for advice concerning the weather around Göreme in early March. I will be visiting the town then and have the option to drive on to Kayseri to return a hire car and for a flight to Istanbul or to Ankara for the same. What is the weather like at this time of the year?

I notice that there is the Topuz Dag Gecidi between the two towns (at around 1500 metres). Is this generally traversable or am I better off taking the multi-lane highway to Ankara. Is that more secure?

Thanks in advance for advice

Dear Elroy,

March is one of the coldest month in this area but although too cold it doesn't snow like blocking the transportation.

"Topuz Dağı" is not a problem because we have a new road from Cappadocia to Kayseri and you dont need to pass any mountains on that route.

Dear Capp,

Thanks for the information. It makes it a lot easier to plan. Have decided to drive to Kayseri.
