Piramidon - Thanks for chiming in! This is so great to hear. I reached out to Kelebek and am waiting to hear back on availability. Decision made. Is it an absolute must to rent a car? If so, we can set it up.

Thx again, All.

Jlblock1122, glad to help.

No, renting a car is not a must and you don't need to need to pre-arrange it. You will see as you go... There is a lot to see and do, Cappadocia region is quite large. Don't know about other hotels but in Kelebek - they will brief you on local attractions, available tours (there was no pressure to buy), will give you an area map with hiking trails and so on. You may opt for a private tour, or just hike, or simply sit on your terrace one hot afternoon absorbing the view... If you feel like you want to go around by yourself one day - it can easily be arranged through your hotel the night before. We enjoyed driving through Anatolian Plateau local villages, went to underground city and Ilhara valley but it's not a must. We paid aprox $50 for one day with all inclusive insurance - Casko. Not bad. Just keep in mind - manual shift...

Hope this helps,

P

If you fancy a change of scene from the usual sight seeing, we really enjoyed this "tour" - www.reliabletour.com/cappadocia-village.html

It was lovely to spend time sitting outside at low tables and cushions, with local women, trying to make manti! As it happens, we did our cooking at the guides small hotel in Uchisar.
