Barut Lara: Questions and Tips for First Timers

I am hoping someone who has been to the Barut Lara can kindly help with the following questions:

1) What are the activities and the prices at Water Sports Centre? Are there Kayaks to use?

2) What are the opening times of the Squash Court and how much does it cost to hire equipment and is it air conditioned?

3) Does anyone have a map of the hotel resort or knows one located on the web?

4) What is there close to the hotel and what has enticed you to leave the hotel and you have felt it was worth it?

5) How long is the airport transfer if you go with Thomson/ First Choice? Should we consider private taxi?

6) We are planning to tip staff but do not want to offend anyone with our actions. What do you think would be an acceptable min/max? We know tipping tends to be a personal thing

If you have any useful advice for first timers, please feel free to share your tips

Thank you in advance for your help

We did parascending which we paid 600 lira for 3 tandem and 1 single. Sofas for 4 were 100 lira. Prices are a little negotiable depending how much you do.

We didn't use the squash courts.

There are shops within walking distance, a market once a week in Antalya which is a short bus or taxi ride away. Antalya has a lovely old town and there are various trips you can do.

We left the hotel once to go to the pharmacy, except when we did watersports and we also did a 1 1/2 hr trip with the watersports people to the waterfalls.

The squash court is situated in an air conditioned area, and you just book your time at reception and leave a refundable deposit for the equipment hire.

The transfer by coach/bus is only about 20 mins (after leaving the airport) and you will be first drop off. A taxi would cost your approx 20- 25 euros and are readily available right outside the door at the airport and would take you about 15 minutes.

Tipping staff is a very personal thing, we see some people giving a small (say a couple of lira or euro) to the waiting staff who they are familiar with and some people prefer to leave a tip at the end of the holiday in the tip boxes around the hotel. Staff are not offended if they do not get a tip personally (like in some hotels!), the choice is yours... it will be a hard decision as ALL the staff are wonderful.

We are counting down to our 8th visit to this hotel in October, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

When we tipped we instantly saw the staff put it in the tip box. But we wanted the staff who served well to feel appreciated.
