Learn to speak/read thai In udon Thani

Im a newbie just arrived in Udon, thou have been to Thailand 6 times previous ( Bangkok,Pattaya, Samui and Hua Hin). Yep - have followed a local lady here. I intend ( if everything works out) to stay long time ---will apply for retirement visa after my first visa run --just to make sure I am settled in.

My question --------

Can anyone recommend a good school for a newbie to learn to speak, read and write Thai.

I want to get past simple tourist thai skills , to at least reasonable spoken thai ability ( both speak it myself AND also understand spoken thai).

I have found one website offering individual lessons with a one on one teacher.........

any suggestions, comments , warnings greatly accepted

Hmmm, in Udonthani you'll more than likely pick up more Lao than Thai LOL. They speak a combination of it there and most people are Lao descent. I was there fro 2 years and thought I had learned alot of Thai. Later, when I started living and staying in Bangkok and Southern Thailand I found words I had learned and thought were Thai were actually Lao. Impressed the Isaan girls in bangkok, but not the Thai speakers LOL.

I agree you more likely to pick up northeastern dialect then the Thai official. Every regions in Thailand has their own dialect.

Wh don't learn Thai in Bangkok instead.
