Rawai weather in September/October

I am planning a trip to Rawai, Phuket at the end of September. Does anyone have any experience of the weather there at that time of year, as I have heard its the months with the highest rainfall.

Can be wet that time of year. Could be some overcast days with rain and wind in a row, and if you're lucky also some nice and sunny days. In September though, the number of sunny days tends to be limited.

Thanks for your post, I did read on the net that this may be the case. Does it get any better in October?

October can be better and can be worse. Last year October was a mixed bag, as was September. 2008 September was bad October was good, 2007 September was good October was bad.

So sorry, but you picked the worst months to make weather predictions.

hi andrew

we were in Rawai in Sept 04, we had really nice weather that year, rain overnight and occassional showers sometimes late afternoon but mostly nice, pretty overcast and humid but still had fair bit of sunshine,we had day tours to James Bond island etc and scored good days, maybe just lucky that time? but as steven says very unpredictable that time of year

we are there in Sept this year, but we just make the most of what ever comes, its still warm when it does rain, we have mostly been in Phuket May/June/July and not found a lot of difference, last May we had 2 days in a row that rained, so who knows? weather unpredictable anywhere in the world!

Last 2 weeks of October last year didn't rain too bad.. A couple of showers maybe 2or 3 days - only short showers though. And late afternoon one day, it rained quite hard for an hour or 2 then stopped... Rest of the time was lovely...

Even when it rained it wasn't horrid though...
