Foreign Exchange & Visa on arrival

Hi we were traveling to Phuket from India next week and have two questions , would appreciate some help here.

Forex

Wanted to know whether they change Rs at the forex booths in Phuket or should we carry bahts from here.

The conversion rates as per ://daytodaydata.net/default.aspx is better than those available in India.

Visa on arrival

We are travelling via Thai airways from Delhi to Phuket (changeover at Bangkok). We will get our Phuket boarding pass in Delhi , and also our luggage will b checked into directly for Phuket. Do we need to get the VOA in Bangkok or we can get it in Phuket ?

cheers

VOA is handled in Bangkok, and yes exchange booths and banks in Phuket will change INR.

The VOA depends on how many others are also applying at the same time, I'd allow 40 minutes.....it could be quicker its not busy, but could be longer if its very busy.

As par my knowledge VOA counter is available at Phuket Int. Airport with round the clock opening and a international debit or credit card will good and easy to carry just carry some Thai currency + the 1200 TBT per person for VOA.

Have a nice trip.
