Are you 2 guys or husband/wife, makes a difference to what you are looking for. I would not class the Yorkshire Inn as a boutique hotel and the pool is not on site its a few doors down from the hotel.

Kellys Hotel is a 5 min walk from Jungceyon, has good reviews and is classed as a Boutique Hotel. It comes in round your price range.

Poppa Palace is not far from Bangla Rd and rack rate for standard rooms is 2200baht, cheaper through Sawadee.

Have a look at this link as there are many hotels with good info and prices.

Baipho lifestyle hotel. Love it.. Have been there twice in the last year. Close enough to the action but the little bar downstairs and the attention to detail makes this one a real diamond in the rough.

Heading b com ack to Patong in December but this time we are taking our daughter so we will not be staying there as it more suits singles.

Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

Re: Yorkshire. Reluctant though I am given the marvellous posts they make, I have to set right the comment by Cathy and Gary.

The pool at the Yorkshire is very much part of the Yorkshire complex which extends over several properties. It is on land at the rear of two buildings fronting Soi Sansabai which connects the main hotel building and the hotel restaurant which also opens on to Soi Sansabai. It is from that the meals served aroud the poolside originate.

And a very nice pool it is too! Hard to believe that something so good is in "the heart" of the busiest part of Patong!

As for "boutique", well the Yorkshire is quite small. Whether that is "boutique or not is, I guess debatable, but it is a good place to stay, especially if you are on your own.

Kiwi, have to say we have not been to the Yorkshire Inn for a year, but last year we had a look at some of their apartments. The girl walked us down the street to the pool area, I did not realize it was connected to the hotel.

I agree its a good place to stay if your on your own and want to be that close to Bangla Rd.
