Hilltribe homestay - Northern Thailand

Our guide, Mr. Cha, is suggesting: There is one village "called Baan Hoe Krai" they got home stay for tourist but non-touristy. Anyone have any thoughts or experience here?

No, we never did a homestay , and did not regret it. We spent a day visiting , and having lunch at, non - tourist hill tribe villages, meeting some children, visiting a school , etc. and it was good. We contributed to providing lunch for a day and brought some treats.

Charlie Kiattisak at Asianwaytours@hotmail.com was our primary guide for about 10 days, taking us to hill tribe villages along the way, some where he had relatives. We took an additional one-day trip to the hill tribe villages with another guide out of Chiang Rai, but unfortunately, I cannot locate his contact info.
