We were excited to try this new resort but we were disappointed with the owner's rude attitude.
The money-grubbing owner gives this new resort a bad name and poor impression. She is curt, rude, money-faced and she overcharges guests - she tried to dishonestly charge us extra for wine we did not order. She insists on making guests pay 3% credit card charge for hotel bill which is normally absorbed by other hotels and upfront payment upon check-in. When we pointed out that normally for other hotels, guests pay on check out, and hotels absorb the credit card charges, she gave a black face. Good customer service is the last thing on her mind.
Exhorbitant New Year's Day Gala dinner at $2700 thai baht, which was compulsory for all guests - turned out the gala dinner served lousy food for the rip-off price, started 1 hour late, poor guests had to queue half-hour for bbq buffet, even plain water is not included! Lousy location, inaccessible - you need to pay $200 baht per trip to get to Ao Nang beach. The 'Lakeside view' room is a joke - only a small pond view, noisy loud insects disturbed our sleep.
Fortunately the rest of the staff at this resort are very polite, helpful and friendly, unlike the owner. To be fair, the rooms are clean, new, decent and the pool is nice. We will surely give this resort a miss next time we visit krabi - the hotels located directly on Ao Nang beach are more accessible and they have more friendly owners.
