You can sing along, but it's not compulsory.

This and more can be done in one full day from Chiang Rai.

The average tourist would do something like this along with the Golden Triangle and a crossing into Laos.

We included a crossing into Burma, but we had a guide and driver with us at the time.

You could hire a car and do this yourself easy enough.

We spent the day with Jermsak and took in the Opium Museum, Doi Tung, Tea Plantations and a few other attractions.

Could easily do it yourself with a hire car but Jermsaks knowledge made it a very pleasant day out.

Make sure you allow a few hours for the White Temple. We rode scooters there but you could easily go via tuk tuk, or taxi. About 15 minutes South of CR.

Chiang Rai is about 3 hours from Chiang Mai and Doi Tung about another hour further north give or take, so it would take an eight hour round trip to visit from CM, not much time for anything else.

From Chiang Rai there would be time to visit the border areas, visit Mae Salong or Mae Sai, stop at the 'black temple' on the way back.
