We are planning asafari to tanzania with another couple next July and are lucky enough to know a young woman from the country who is working with a travel agency (AntelopeSafaris)to plan our trip. they appear to be excellent but from all of the books I have read they are planning a quick tour that i am afraid will not accomplish my desire to get a "Safari" feel.
The trip has us spending 2 full days touring dar city (with a trip to bagamoyo), then to kilimanjaro with a day of trekking up to mandara hut, then spending a night by the arusha airport and leaving for a drive to manyara where we will get an evening game drive.
the next day is off to the serengeti with a game drive there when we get there. The next day is a drrive to the Ngorongoro crate for a game drive in the crater. The next day is a drive back to arusha where we leave for 3 nights in zanzibar.
All of the hotels are serena lodges.
We are not Holiday Inn type of travelers in the US. In europe we look for interesting but reasonable hotels (3-4 stars).
Does this itinerary sound like a safari or just a tour of tanzania?
