Note: I saw there was a similar recent post, but as my question is a little different I didn't want to hijack their thread.
I'm heading to Taiwan in a few days, and I'd been hoping to cycle from Hualien to Taitung. However the weather forecast is looking like it'll be grey and rainy. I've already done the trip in the reverse direction during a typhoon, so I only want to do it if the weather is decent. Otherwise, I think I'll head south down to Kenting NP, as the weather should be nicer, and I've never been there before.
I'm going to Hualien regardless, and will make my decision when I get there. Anyways, if I decide to skip the bike ride, I found this link
which shows the route for the shuttle from Kaohsiung to Kenting. I don't see any point in going all the way to Kaohsiung and then backtracking, so I thought I could take an express train from Hualien to Fangliao and then catch the bus at Fangliao Station.
Does that seem like a good way to do it? And any idea how frequent the buses are midweek in December? And about how much should I expect to pay for the bus ticket?
