Muthurajawela Marsh and Dutch Canal

I'm planning to do this tour either early morning right after arrival, or late afternoon. Where can I book a tour/boat and how much is the reasonable price to do this?

Hi there,

1] Through your hotel-guesthouse, or the beach boys outside.

2] For upto 2.5 hours boat trip Rs 5,000 is a good price, for the whole boat. You might have to pay extra for road transfer to the jetty if it's not at your hotel.

All the best,

My hostel address says it's in 42 kannatha para (cemetery road). Would you know if it's near to the jetty?

Hi again,

Sounds like it's not very close to any of the canals, hence you might have to add a small bus or tuktuk ride; but it might even be walkable. Don't know all of Negombo by heart ;-)

All the best,

hi

A tuk tuk will take 1500 Rs going and coming back and a boat trip will cost 1100 per person and it is 20 min drive from negombo town a very good place for nature and birds lovers

What if I'm alone? Are they going to allow me to join with other tourist? Is the weather good right now to do this?

You may be lucky - you may not be.

In the last week or so weather on the west coast has been brilliant - bright sun from a blue sky all day.

I paid 7600 LKR for 3 person boat trip in October (low season). Feel like I was overcharged. This around 20 US$ / person. Isn't that excessive ?
