Hi there,

No. Hikkaduwa, Mirissa and Tangalle are the main beaches having shacks, Bentota/Induruwa is more family-oriented.

All the best,

<Erik> & [Sandya]

Induruwa had some shacks a few years ago were we had some wonderful times but they have been took away. Apparently they were not 100% legal. It was though nothing like Goa, The shacks were more spread out. Induruwa is a remote beach area not far from Bentota, We liked it and did a return visit.

So when you go to the beach do you have to take your own refreshments? Or is there something close by?

Bentota has enough eating places within 5 mins from the beach. Induruwa I guess at most parts of the beach too, being the local bazaar shops.

All the best,

Hi Erikdr

We are 2 couples coming for a short 2 nights - 3 days vacation next weekend , landing in colombo and we mostly are deciding on Bentota to spend our time, however what will be your recommendation from the above places to stay at?

We are in our 30's and like going out, some water sports activities, bike/car drives, exploring nearby good eating places and other outdoor activities.

Thanks

Hi Erik, google map shows Hikka this to be roughly 2 hours away whereas bentota is also a similar time away?

request if you can give me little more info on Hikka as i have always just heard only about bentota and never about Hikka..is hiring a car from the airport and driving down to these places recommended?

Thanks!
