Sri Lanka. Negombo, how safe?

We are travelling to Sri Lanka on Feb 21st for 2 weeks. We were so excited, but after the suicide bombers we feel a little uneasy. We are 2 girls , over 35. We have travelled and do realise that there are problems in a lot of countries and dont want to give in to terrorists. We will stay at our hotel during the day and venture out into town at night. Not great sightseers.Staying at the Browns Beach Resort.Any comments appreciated.

Hi there,

With this pattern of travel no special risks. Enjoy the holiday!

Just ask local advice before venturing out to other towns, sometimes it's advised against (certain areas of) Colombo or e.g. Anuradhapura and then it's better to follow this advice!

All the best,

<Erik> & [Sandya]
