Traveling to Jeju in a wheelchair

Has anyone done this? Is there any support from the airlines between Seoul and Jeju Island? By support, I mean, are there any ramps? Will they get you up the stairs, if necessary? Are there elevators in the airport? Is there any type of transportation available on Jeju Island for the handicapped?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My husband is from Jeju and uses a w/c full-time due to polio. HIs family still lives there and he goes home once a year. Depending on the airline that you fly, they have a lift that goes into a small truck and then to the ground...it is an efficient system.

You will need to leave your w/c behind at the door (same as shoes) when you visit restaurants/stores etc.

It is not very accessible. There are a few attractions ie the volcano and waterfall that are accessible.

Jeju is an amazing place! Enjoy!

From Boulder, CO
