Standalone Rooms in the Adirondacks

I am trying to find a place near a lake in the Adirondacks that is similar to a place near me called Raystown Lake, PA (Raystown Lake Resort and Lodge). They have what almost seem like hotel rooms but not anywhere near the main offices. The room balconies overlook the Lake yet have all the hotel amenities. We are just trying to get away a bit so when I see places like Golden Arrow Resort at Lake Placid, they seem a little bit overpopulated. This trip is for me, my wife, and my 9 month old son so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

There are so many options in the Adirondacks but because you mentioned Lake Placid I listed below two possibilities. It would be much easier to make recommendation f you included your per night budget.

Try Colonial House. I have no idea about the lodge near you so no clue how they compare.

And there is always The Point in Saranac Lake http://thepointresort.com/#/
