When is the best time to visit the Seychelles for snorkeling and diving?
Best time for snorkeling is April, October and November. No winds, no waves and clear visibility (up to 30 m).
Was In Anse Volpert Praslin In November
The wind was blowing and sand was shaken
The Water was emerald green
But I tell you up front : don't expect to see a single tropical fish !!!
They only exist In the advertisement
We visited in March / April. the seas were not always that calm - anse lazio was quite wavy actually but visibility quite good and snorklling great. on la digue anse cocos the snorkelling looked great but was just too rough for us.
those protected by reefs (eg anse source d'argent) were usually calmer and great snorkelling and out on st pierre island was good too.
The best snorkeling experience we had in Seychelles was at Anse Severe on La Digue. Beware of sharp coral surface at low tide. Protective footwear advised.
Hi Megan T
Have a look at this site: seychelles.travel/en/…seasons_conditions.php
I would suggest you also contact a diving operator close to your hotel/guest house and ask them where they go out diving at the various times of the year and depending on their answers and your choice of dive spots you can make a firm decision of when you wish to visit the islands.
