Mahe Airport free shuttle to ferry jetty

We will be arriving mahe airport 7.15 a.m the 9th june and i understand free shuttle to ferry jetty departs airport at 9.30 a.m in order to get the 10.30 am ferry. Will 2 hours be enough to go through customs/immigration and pick up luggage this time of year?

Also this free shuttle to the jetty, does this always runs or needs to be booked, as i saw on Cat Cocos website that it is 'On request'...

If we can't get this shuttle, what would be the cost of taxi from airport to the ferry jetty?

Any comments on this would be most helpful

Hi Helena!

Great to hear you will be visiting the Seychelles soon!

Mahe International Airport is extremely small and usually does not deal with many international arrivals at the same time. (The most I've seen is 1 international flight and 1 domestic). Therefore two hours is more than enough to get through customs and immigration, collect your luggage and join the shuttle bus. Remember that some of the passangers on the flight may be Seychellois going back home so they join a different queue in the immigration hall.

In regards to the 'on request' for the shuttle it may be wise to contact them directly to see if you need to pre-book or whether it is a first come first served situation.

Regardless of that, if you do happen to miss the shuttle, the ferry terminal is only approx 15 mins drive away from the airport and there are plenty of taxis around! Be aware that they may ask you to pay in Euros so be prepared to negotiate the price before you get in!

Have a great time!
