I just read in Dec. that Caesarea was damaged by a storm. Is it open at this time to visitors and are sites still there to see. Was a lot destroyed- Planning on going in early Feb. Thanks. Eleana

It is still there of course. It is a very big site and what was detroyed is a part of a Otoman wall. The interesting parts are the ancient port, the mosaics along the promenade, the hypodrom and the theater.

Thanks for your reply. So you said the interesting parts, port, mosaic etc. are they okay to visit and was not damaged. How long would it take to tour the area not damaged. Eleana

Eleana, the areas that Shoshi described are not in the damaged area. It's far less than you are fearing. I'd give yourself at least 2-3 hours to see Caesarea properly.

Do NOT leave luggage or valuables visible in a rental car. We've had numerous reports of break-ins in the parking lots there.

Try to park near the entrance but most of all do not leave your car and go see the aquaduct which is far from the main site. Either park close to it if possible or walk from the main parking lot near the entrance.
