Which tour with Eko?

I know lots of questions have been asked regarding tours but as first timers to Lombok I am still unsure. We will have had 3 days on Gili T first. The good news is that Eko is available for the date I have requested, now to decide what we would like to see! He suggested 2 different itineraries - one north Lombok which included views, waterfalls and a market. The other was a south Lombok tour which included several villages and beaches. They both sound good. As first timers which one do you think would give us the best overview of Lombok. Is there much "hard sell" in the pottery, weaving villages - we don't really plan on buying much on this visit but would love to experience beautiful scenery with some local culture. Thanks for any recommendations.

North Lombok tour is great because you get away from the beaches, inland, see a beautiful waterfall and lots of country-side.

South Lombok is great because you see the awesome beaches of South Lombok - get to go to some really beautiful places that are mostly deserted, and the weaving village is quite worthwhile - yes they do want you to buy something but make it clear to Eko before you get there that you won't be buying and ask him if he can wave off the hard sell. Eko will get a commission for anything you buy, but he is trustworthy enough not to sell you that trip because of the commission (unlike many other operators)

So the choice is with you - you might be wanting to get away from the beaches after a few days on the Gilis so go North, or you might want to see if anything beats the Gilis (it does) so go South.
