1. Re: travelling to Flores

Here is another way of traveling from Bali to Lombok onto Flores:

BALI - LOMBOK

From Bali you can take a ferry (at Padangbai harbor) to Lombok (lembar harbor). spend some days exploring Lombok, then onto next island: Sumbawa.

LOMBOK - SUMBAWA

Go to Bus terminal, take a bus with route: Mataram - Bima. Bus fare including ferry Lombok - Sumbawa). Or you can buy the ticket at bus agency around Mataram city. This is a long driving, about 12 hours...

Upon arrival at Bima, take another bus to sape and get ferry to Labuanbajo (Flores).

SUMBAWA - FLORES

Only one ferry everyday depart in the morning at 7 AM.

If you feel tried you can stay overnight at Sape, there are some small hotels there. Or just get to the ferry and take rest there. It's long time cruising about 9 hours.

Pelni is the national passenger line and provides scheduled service between the islands.

Other than that, there are charter boats that go on (mostly) dive tours to Komodo National Park and Labuan Bajo.

If you are looking for some slow boat, then Pelni is the way to go.

Otherwise, just go Trans Nusa, and avoid a lot of trouble.
