Emerald Class

Travelling from Singapore to Bintan and given it's a relatively short trip they we are wondering if it is worth the extra dollars to travel Emerald Class?

Also can you please give us an indication of the average time it takes to obtain visas and clear customs and immigration on arrival.

1. Re: Emerald Class

I've looked at Emerald class but it's not worth it going on a weekday when the ferry is not too crowded. Remember that the travel times are the same for both classes. As for the visa, there is visa on arrival, longer queues on weekends, quicker on weekdays. Journey is about and hour, visa about half hour (need cash !) If you're in a real hurry, you can ask for "express" clearance pay a few bucks per head and clear faster. Works better for weekends when it gets crowded.
