Suggestion needed for a day-tour & local food

hi travelers,

i have already signed up for the Mt Bromo & Ijen package tour in June.

on the way back to Surabaya in evening & on last day, i have free day as my flight is in evening.

could anyone recommend where we could go roaming around by walking?

is taking taxi /cab cheap? or hiring for 1/2 day?

would like to taste some local foodstuff, any good eateries recommended?

cheers.

thanks Freebubble.

would you know how much does it cost for car-rental services (1/2day &full day), incl. of driver as roads are congested & confusing if you said its similar to Jakarta.

hi Leopang, which street is Chinatown in?

am staying in Hotel Ibis Rajawali, any idea how far away & is there anything worth checking out nearby this hotel?

what type of local food /delicacies that i should try? am a Malaysian so can adapt to spicy food.

thanks with regards.

thanks Leopang.

now i know what food to expect there, have seen these Bakso stalls in Bali too.

we are more excited of this trip for the chance to capture spectacular view of Mt Bromo & Ijen instead.

How was your trip here, any difficulty in trekking up Ijen? is it 1hr or more to the crater?

thanks
