Ubud

Planning on first time in Bali in Sept. Someone just returning said the traffic in Ubud really dangerous and the vendors were relentless. Sister described this area as Paradise 6 years ago,has it totally changed? Thank you for your help.

I must admit I am feeling a bit sad we are not going back there this trip. We really loved Ubud because it is for us a perfect mix. Plenty happening during the day, great restaurants and the scenery is just divine. It is definitely going to be included in our next trip.

Stay out of the town centre where it is peaceful and beautiful in the countryside. Head into town in the morning before the tour buses and then retreat to your hotel/villa. I find dinner time in ubud to be pretty quiet too.

There are many mainland Chinese tourists about yes.

But there are also many Japanese tourists. While Japanese tourists are leaning more towards DIY travel, I've found that the older generation still prefer organised tours.

As noodles said, you get all sorts. I don't really think he was saying that only Japanese tourists occupy the buses in and around Ubud.
