"Safe" Money changer near Griya Santrian?

HI All

Have never been to Sanur and just wondering where I can find a good money changer near GS?

Thankyou

Stayed there in 2011 and changed our money safely and correctly at a place that looks like a bank, guard out the front too. If you go out to the main street and turn right, walk up a little while and it was on the left. There was also another one further around on the same way but around the corner and in behind another building. Never got short changed at either.

We use the one directly across the road from Hardies.

Thanks guys! From what I have read Hardies is only a couple of hundred meters away from GS. So that sounds great.

The one that has the best (9 times out of 10) safest rate is just up across the road from the Respati. It has a huge LED sign out the front with the rates in red.

PT Made Putroe Bakri Valuta, Jl DAnau Tamblingan No 50.

If you head right at the road, it's on the other side of the road a few hundred metres down. You will pass Cinnamon, the Ducks Nutz and Aladin's. The actual building is set back from the road so is easy to miss if you aren't looking out for the sign.

While there in October we stayed at Griya and would walk out and turn right onto main road and just a bit up on left was the one we used. Same side as Duck Nutz, just up a bit further. It was air conditioned and we were happy with rates there..much better than what was being offered in Kuta or Legian on the same given day.

The changer opposite Respati was at 9880 yesterday. Not sure what it I today, haven't wandered out there yet.

Whatever you do be careful. We went into a bookstore that was also a money changer as they looked ok and good rate. He gave us our money to count then tool it again and got us distracted in a conversation about change and as he did this, dropped $100 worth of notes back in his draw, we said we saw him and he simply gave us our au$ without saying a word. Only ever use the money changers that look like a bank and offer you a receipt.
