Good food near the Sanur Beach Hotel for family

Hi!

We are travelling with our three young boys and would love to hear of any good places to eat near our hotel?

From reading through the restaurants in the hotel itself are quite dear.

Our children are quite young - 4, 7 and 11

All recommendations are very welcome as well as some idea on the sort of prices we would be looking at

Thank you in advance

F

PS

Also our littlest one is addicted to Marmite/Vegemite - would we be OK to take a jar in from Australia?

The Hyatt might do the job.

Some reviewers talk about a slight out of date look but in general people find the facilities and service good. It is part of a chain and some people prefer somthing more independant.

Your family will require 2 adjoining rooms. You can decide if the youngest stays in with you (peace of mind) or with his brothers (just peace).

We booked through trailfinders and got a free breakfast deal. You might want to search the forums as other contributors have their own ways of getting good deals.

Marmite has been imported by other brits without problems (not in handluggage)

Thank you both for your very quick replies!

Irishrover we're already booked into the Sanur Beach Hotel with adjoining rooms through Trailfinders booked in Belfast!! Small world eh?!

We did consider the Hyatt but the Sanur came in that bit cheaper.

We're going from Perth, WA on Saturday for a week and really looking forward to it. Feel a bit duh though as we've not really done much homework on this leg of the trip until this past week so we've had a lot of catching up to do - think my travel brain has jet lag!!

Thanks for the marmite tip though as, although I'm sure we'd be able to buy some there, it is good peace of mind to have a jar in the case too.

thanks again for the input

Recently, we stayed at the Puri Santrian, which is not far along the beach from the Sanur Beach.

On the beach between the hotels are a number of reasonable restaurants open from breakfast through to the evening. Two, which we found to be good, are close to the Puri Santrian. They are the Cemara Beach and Donalds. Donalds also has a branch on the main street facing the Puri Santrian.

There are also many restaurants in the southern end of Sanur offering a variety of foods and generally very reasonably priced. In all we probably ate in around 12-15 different restarants and were never disappointed.

Have a really great time.

Bobby's restaurant is next to Donalds on the beach too. they did nice lunch time food some authentic and lots of others too.

there are absolutely loads of restaurants though on the main 'strip' so there shouldn't be a problem finding something for the kids

enjoy yourself

Thanks Digger! Pommy fodder indeed!! LOL! No need for the HP sauce and we did bring the jar of vegemite for the littlest one and had lots of longing looks from others at the breakfasts!

We've just got back and had the BEST time in Sanur.

We ate in the Cat and the Fiddle on the main street a couple of times and it was just lovely and the food was great!

We ate in Donalds on the main street and the Indonesian food we ordered was lovely but the kids stuff wasn't so good. The place was a little lacking in atmosphere but as the food was so good it was worth a trip.

Thanks so much for the great tips though it was really helpful

Hi

Check out benno's, we ate there most nights. We have 2 boys 6 and 8 and the they have tables on the beach so while you are waiting for your meal the kids can play in the sand. Also the Sindu markets are right next door.

We always take vegemite with us.

Hope this helps
