The Boardwalk restaraunt which is part of the Bali Garden resort is nice and only a short walk up the beach path ( towards the Discovery mall) For horse riding I would go with Bali Island horse, they have rides that go onto the beach and they take good care of theit horses. You can book it at any of the tour booths you will find on the streets.

Discovery Kartika is a fantastic hotel ... I stayed there twice last year. The Teppan Noodle restaurant on the beachfront at the hotel is beautiful, the setting is gorgeous at sunset and evening. And its not even expensive!! The Italian restaurant onsite also does beautiful food ( though I do not recommend the buffet theme night ) order off the menu and wait for your tastebuds to be delighted. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost of dining at this hotel.

The boardwalk restaurant at Bali Garden hotel also does delicious food.

Have a fantastic trip.

As mentioned, Boardwalk, Batan Waru next to the Discovery Mall was good and cheap, and Beras Merah opposite Discovery Mall have "one metre of satay" which we had a couple of times and is delicious and feeds about 3 people... or 1 greedy person. They also do a little performance (music and song) when bringing it to your table which is quite fun.
