It's sad but it does exists in Kuta.

Not at the same scale as in thailand.

I always travel solo, and as a midle aged guys I do get a few offers.... a bit sad.

You better stay away from those girl or the scooter girls before you get into trouble.

Most of them has husband back in Java.

lienta u should have read what ochervet said in the post , i didn't say at any point that i'm going to them it was totally out of sadness that why bali is going on this road which leads to thailand, i think bali should stay as it is and let thailand do what it does and give the people a different place, i never said that i want to go or experience anyone of them, i think its very sad to see thats all i wanted to say and just thought that there might b other people who didn't like this thing either but tripadvisor thought this is not a healthy topic but i think its important caz most of the old guys(not all of them) go to bali and thailand and use their skin color and dollars and pounds as advantage to buy sex which is absurd.

Agree windtalker, it is sad. But Bali, and Indonesia for that matter, is just like any other country in the world. This practice is everywhere in every country, it's just not as obvious in some. It has always been there and will always be there, it is just disappointing when it comes out of the shadows to approach you, instead of it being hidden away only to be found by those who particularly go looking for it.

I do agree about men using their "wealth" in countries like Indonesia, your point on that is very valid, but in truth, it's not just white men. Males of every colour and race are just as guilty.

And don't get me started on the local men who pay the families of these girls so that they can use them like this and thus bind them to a life of servitude and misery until they are too old to perform and make money for their bosses.

I agree very sad situation and this spoils Bali especially Kuta area. My husband and I travel together and occasionaly he is on his own and gets offered girls, porno, even in the day time. I am concerned as my two young sons (not that young 18 and 20) will be going to Bali alone for the first time later this year with friends and staying in Kuta. They are going to be offered all sorts of things and see all sorts of things - as a Mother I feel horrified about this and will have to try to advise them to ignore these offers - I pray they are sensible enough at the time.

i dont care about the local men whinnie caz they sit all day and look around for something and dont do anything, if they pay the families money it is because they get money from somewhere and i'm just talking about kuta where u mostly see white guys getting local girls, its not black and white issue that much but caz majority of the tourist in this area comes from west so they have a larger share in this.

as long as this goes behind the doors its fine as it cant be stopped as there will always be need for this but last night guys not only offered girls but put Cocaine on my hand and said give the money u think is reasonable, now thats the last thing i can think of but just to see such a wonderful place getting muddy like this is sad, bali has so many attractions which you can enjoy alone and with ur family and friends but this is perhaps not something which will bring bali a good name.

may be they can implement some terms and put some check as they have lot of resources and money in bali to use for the betterment rather just digging holes around.

cheers
