Pemuteran, Lovina and Amed. I love Amed the best.

It is closer to Legian, worth an overnight stay at least and you can walk into the water and snorkel.

Have a look at hotels on Lipah Beach.

here are some places to snorkel. there are also places to stay and eat at these locations.

padangbai - blue lagoon is 10 minutes north - entry from shore - coral, fish

candidasa - inside breakwall and just outside breakwall - there is great snorkelling at the three offshore islands, organise a local boat to reach it

amed area - close to shore - can drive to venues or get a boat.

lovina - boat to reefs

pemuteran - close to shore or boat to menjangan island

nusa lembongan - close to shore or to edge of surfing reef.

nusa penida – haven’t been but suppose to be good.

Bukit – coral, fish but can be stong currents and waves.

sanur and nusa dua - reefs

west coast of Bali is generally not good for snorkelling - too murky or waves.

in all areas beware of currents, change of tides, jellyfish. ask locals about conditions.
