I was there just before Christmas and a little place called Bobbies (which is on the beach) was the place I liked best.

We like Magos, it's a bit more expensive but has a huge menu. Also worth a try is the restaurant attached to the Natah Bale Villas.

Further north there is one called Laghawa just north of Hardy's on the other side of the road. Very good quality seafood. Drink prices are expensive here though.

This is a big question Andy, you give no idea of your particular likes and dislikes. It the past few weeks there has been a surge in new restaurants opening.

Starting at the southern end of Sanur there is the beachside restaurant named Kesuma. This has to be one of the best value budget style restaurants around. They specialise in seafood. Try the whole grilled snapper or the king prawns. Pick your own out of the tank.

Moving north from there you come to Cat & Fiddle, Trophy and Magos.

Little India is great.

Jepun is another good one. The stuffed pork rolls are really good.

Ming across the road from Jepun is very good and despite the name has a French theme.

Massimmos for Italian is wonderful.

Apa Kabar is a great garden restaurant.

Charming is very good

The newly opened Bistro 95 is the best thing that has happened in Sanur for years.

These are all south of the Hyatt.

Stars Bistro is good

Coriander is another good place.

Sudat Senang (Cosy Corner) is well worth a visit.

Aladdins is not fancy but it is very good.

Kayu Manis is well worth a visit

6 Point has just reopened, this also is very good.

Of course you could go down to the beach and try

Spirit

The Beach Cafe

Bennos

and Bonsai.

That list should get you through your holiday.

One of the best meals I have ever eaten was at Kayu Manis - Jl Tandakan No 6 Shindu Sanur (0361)289410 creative food at excellent prices with complimentary extras, it is only a small restaurant seating about 20. so booking may be advisable.

We also loved Bonsai Cafe on the beach, try an avacado milkshake, you'll be surprised just how nice it tastes.

On Saturday or Sunday morning head to Barturjimbar Cafe opposite Hardys for a traditional indonesian breakfast/brunch and sample some of the local snacks. I particularly liked the satays and sweets served in banana leaves.

A late lunch sitting on the beach at the Beach Cafe is wonderful. They do excellent mixed entrees and desserts, so you get to taste a little of lots.
