Singapore to Ooty

Hi,

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (5yrs, 2yrs). Come November this year, we are planning to go to Ooty. My flight will reach Coimbatore at about 11.30pm. is it easy to find trustable taxis to bring us to our hotel in Ooty. Is it safe to travel at night as in the road conditions etc. How long will the journey take. How is the weather there in Nov? First time going to Ooty so pardon my ignorance.
