2/3 day trip near bangalore in Mid-September

Please recommend places to visit for a 2/3 day trip near bangalore in mid-september for a couple. This being the monsoon season, is it risky to travel?

for 2-3 days better option is Wayanad. It's just 5 hrs drive from Bangalore and one of the most scenic place close to Bangalore. You will love the drive towards Wayanad through bandipur/Wayanad Wild life sanctuary. From mysore just 2 hrs drive to Wayanad.

For me it has to be Ooty, no other destination suggested above compares to it and is around 300 kms. Nilgiri hills are just amazing, vegetation most beautiful. Worth every paise - the journey and the place. Monsoon over now and this year it has been dry , no worries there.
