That's peak monsoon season. If you do brave the lashing rains and decide to venture out of your hotel, you'll find that all the animals at the Sanctuary have moved deep into the forest and there's hardly any to be seen.

But if you're willing to go there for the sheer fun of enjoying Nature in the monsoons, there's nothing like it.

I agree with Backpacker, animal sighting will not be easy with the lush, dense, monsoon foliage. But the butterflies will be out along with ever changing wild flowers. Watch out for the leeches which can be a real problem in the monsoons. Better still, postpone your trip to the beginning of September or later, if you can.
