If you are looking for a quiet beach with out "noisey and ' party party' areas", you can opt for Varkala , Marari or Cherai

Kovalam is the main tourist resort but that is not party party like parts of Goa. Kerala is far more laid back and most night life centres around meal and few drinks in local restaurants.

I would check out either Kovalam or Varkala. You should find both relaxed compared to Goa.

There aren't really any noisy or party areas in Kerala, its much more laid back than Goa. Agree with wanderin, Kovalam or Varkala is good for a first time visit to Kerala.

Hello,

The North Kerala beaches like Kannur,Payyambalam, Muzhuppilangad,Bekkal beaches will be less noisy. Kovalam and Varkala will be packed for new year eve.

Cheers,
