Manali in April, advice needed.

Hi, My wife and I are coming down to Manali on the 10th of April for 6 days of relaxation. Will be travelling by HPTDC Volvo from Delhi as per the recommendation of most members of this forum. Needed advice on the following, since we are first-timers to Manali:

1) Area to stay: Need peace and quite, and close to nature, but the Mall should still be accessible by foot or auto.

2) Hotel: Ideally, a place by the river-side, or with fantastic mountain views. We'll want to go for walks etc, so not extremely uphill also. Budget would be max 4000 per night on a MAP basis.

Spoke to Manali Heights and liked their prices and website. Do you think it'll suit our requirement, or are there better options?

3) What will the weather be like? What kind of clothing requirement do you guys foresee?

Thanks in advance....

Also, while coming by bus from Delhi, which side of the bus should we take seats in, so as to experience the best views in the morning?

I stayed in Quality Inn River Country in Manali, located just off the hustle-bustle, beside the Beas river, easily accessible by cab or auto. You can stroll along the bank of Beas. You may have a look at their web page. Its within your budget too.

Light woollens will be required after sunset.

Definitely the right side for the best views in the morning,

And you must consider Hotel Johanson's Lodge for the stay as it has the best location and comfortable walking distance from mall road.
