Solo female traveler- boring questions, sorry :))

I’m traveling to Goa late April, a dream coming true. It’s my first time to India. I’m female and solo.

I’ve few questions, I tried to read the previous posts but still confused.

1. North or south? Weather wise.

2. I like to be in a vivid place but not too noisy and by the beach, any hotel suggestions? I’m on an average budget.

3. Is it safe to travel from/to the airport late night or very early morning?

4. Is it going to be a dry week late April early May?

Thank you :))

North will be lively ,April will be hot in either north or south

Baga beach..if you want secluded beaches look at Ashvem or Mandrem

Its safe but you have to be careful

there are a few dry days around election (after 20th Arpil)

There is a Facebook page for solo travellers to Goa. Not sure what it’s called, but they might be able to help.

Goa is a small state and the weather is the same across it all. Very hot and humid in April. It’s the end of the main season. If you use the pre pay taxi at the airport, you should be fine. All taxi’s have an I’d on the front dashboard. Just take a photo of it, then any issues you have the details, although I wouldn’t imagine you would have any apart from how mad all drivers are over there. Take the usual precautions you would when at home.

Late April-May is coming towards the end of the overseas visitors tourist season ,so there is a chance that some place may have closed . The north is normally busier than the south. We have never been so late ,but I imagine it will be quite humid so A/C will be required.

Decent budget accommodation. North Goa, Calangute = Osborne Resort, Somy Hotel, Candolim = Highland Beach.

Thank you for your reply.

Is there a place where the night life is? A busy place with music and bars in north?

lots of places with music and bars in the north ,but not sure what will be open late in the season .Baga and Arambol could still have thing going on. As a solo female traveller just be careful if you are wandering about late at night, stick to the main roads.

Nightlife should get back to normal after 23rd April, so I would recommend calangute or baga.

Hi,

Goa is very hot in the end of April. It's the off-season. Calangute and Baga in North Goa and Colva and Benaulim in South Goa might still be happening.

But just like someone earlier said - as a solo female traveller just be careful if you are wandering about late at night and stick to the main roads.
