Is it better to exchange uk pounds at the airport?

Also, are US dollars widely acceptable by taxis and restaurants?

Thank you

We take enough with us to cover us for our first day (£50 or so) then just exchange as and when required either at our hotel or at a money exchange shop.

Ok, thanks. Saw all this info after I'd posted!

We've decided to pre-book a return from airport to hotel for 5 of us for £30, which we're happy with, so now aren't worried about having to exchange money asap. Looking forward to a nice week of r & r.

Thanks for your input.
