Getting into egypt with 5 months 10 days on passport

Hi All, any help will be great on the following.

I travel to egypt on the 10th june, so in 5 days and baically i have my passport which i have just noticed that is only for 5months 10 days on arival (5months 16days from now). Now i am prepared to get a new passport this week so thats not the problem but after checking the .gov website it says that because i will be appling for my first adult passport that i cannot get it done on the one day service, so i am now preparing for the worst. Do you think if i cannot get my passport done in time that i can use the one i got to still go to egypt with. For your information i am flying with easyjet.

Any help would be great

Personally I think I would be visiting my passport office with all the paper completed, relevent phos signed etc etc, and the required fee, together with the travel documents, and ask what can be done.

Good luck.

Hi,

The answer is no you cannot fly.

You MUST have 6 months on your passport ON RETURN from your trip to Egypt.

You must get a new passport.

(I flew to Sharm el Sheikh in December with Easyjet, and also some friends had their passports refused and couldn't go because they did not have 6 months on their passport)

I would agree with the other post, get all the necessary documents and photos and call up or go down to the embassy and explain the urgency of the situation. Do not delay in doing this.

Best of luck :)

Other people have gone with less than 6 months, they emailed the airline and Sharm airport. They managed fine but its not something I would do!

Good luck and have a nice holiday! :-)

Well according to that website it might be ok. However that website isn't an official Egyptian website, so it is the authors interpretation. Personally I would still be doing everything I could to get a new passport.
