The temperature at Xmas should be around 20-25 degrees.

Dahab is very popular with Solo travellers and they all come back safe and sound. As long as you are sensible you should remain safe.

Dahab is brilliant - would you be staying in a resort style hotel or more backpacker hostel style? hostels are walking distance to the action.

You won't be alone for long there are so many independent travellers, divers etc and lots of sociable places to meet people on the promenade.

As for safety - I found no issue with personal safety or belongings. Usual hassle with shop and restaurant owners trying to entice you in.

- but it is always good to be aware of happenings in Sinai.

We stayed at Sabry Palace Camp which is very basic & run by local husband & wife :- dahab-info.com/accommodation/hotels/sabrypal…

If it wasn't fully booked our first choice was to stay here: http://www.sindbaddahab.com/index.html

Hello,

December will still have a quite comfortable temperature, but just bring a jacket or sweater for the nighttime.

A lot of people come to Dahab as solo travelers and don't run into a safety problem. And like the previous poster mentioned, it's a great place to socialize and meet new friends, whether you're a beach bum, a diver or a barfly, you'll find someone to hang out with.

Hope this helps and hope to see you in Dahab for Christmas.

I have to echo the above comments. Dahab is safe for a solo female traveler. Just use your common sense regarding personal safety as you would normally anywhere. For a woman, it is best to cover up a little. A sarong over your bikini if walking is all that is required. Your obvious awareness and sensitivity to the culture will be appreciated and respect will be given in return.

Will you climb Mt Sinai to watch the sunrise? It will be cold at the summit so pack accordingly.

I am sure you'll love Dahab!
