Hi all

Looking to book Dahab for September and have a couple of questions.

Whats the snorkeling like at the Mercure hotel ?

Would anyone recommend wetsuits (shortie) as we like to snorkel for long periods (we needed them in Marsa Alam in March)

Any other coments on this hotel good or bad will also be most welcome.

Thank you in advance

Kind regards

Not snorkelled at the Mercure but else where in the Bay not great as it has a sandy bottom and many areas of reef. Best Snorkelling is around the corner from Napoleon reef going North. Gordoosh has a good map of sites - http://www.dahab.net/english/Dahab-Map.html. In early September the sea is still just about at it’s warmest – maybe 30C at the surface but quite a few sites experience a strong wind that will soon chill you. If you have the room take a shortie or rent one over there.
