2 night trip report-2/14 and 2/15

I was able to book a Friday and Sat comped room at Revel, for Valentines night and Saturday of Presidents weekend. I booked it probably back in January and called last week to see if I could get another room for Sat and they said they were fully committed.

I am becoming a Revel convert. Cont'd

We arrived at Revel about 6:30 on Friday night. No line at check in and got a room on the 21st floor. The room is lovely, however I am a room snob and have a few issues. Nothing that would stop me from going back, but still.....please put a coffee pot in the room. Take out the old mini bar refrigerator and put in one that actually works and keeps a few bottles of water (or vodka) cold.

Put in a radio. Love the tablet/alarm, but a radio is much appreciated. I understand that the sliding frosted glass door is very aesthetically pleasing, but it is extremely heavy and after weeks of snow shoveling, hard to pull with a sore shoulder.

Nothing beats the view! Absolutely wonderful. Great having 2 swivel chairs to sit back and relax in between trips to the casino.

For some reason the TV remote control would not control the volume of the TV.

All of these are little things......I will happily go back many timnes to Revel!

Gambling was ok. No great wins, but for me, the casino floor of Refel is so inviting! The machines are all attractive, clean and seem to be well maintained. I love being able to walk around a little bit and be able to see outside! Cont'd

Eating at Revel was for me, not quite perfect. We only at breakfast. Once at Relish and once at The Sky Cafe for a buffet. This was my second time at Relish and my main complaint is with the service. There is nothing I hate more than being greeted as Hi guys!. I strongly feel that at breakfast you should be greeted by the server with a coffee pot and a cheery good morning. Our waitress was very young and maybe that was her problem, but the 2 of us were seated at a table for 4 and she stood at the empty end, took our order from there, passsed us our coffee cups from there and then handed us our plates of food from there. It just irritates me!

Sky cafe was ok, but very pricey at $22.95 for breakfast. Very small selection. What was there though was pretty good. I only wish they had oatmeal.

We walked down to Resorts for dinner Friday night at Capriccio. We took the Valentines day prixe fixe special of champagne, Ceasar salad, rack of lamb and dessert. For $89.95 for both of us, it was outstanding! Service was top notch and food was fabulous.

Our only other meal was a quick burger at Johnny Rockets in Showboat. It hit the spot.

Overall, we had a great 2 night get away. Will definitely go back to Revel. We are really liking the whole vibe there and find that end of the Boardwalk very easy to get around. Cant wait til its warmer though, to be able to actually enjoy the boardwalk. We walked back from Resorts to Revel last night and the last portion from Showboat to Revel was quite cold and the boards were pretty icey with a slight coating of fresh fallen snow!

One last thing. We saw The Village People show at Resorts. It was fun and entertaining. Brought back some memories of the disco nights! Also, not a bad deal for free, either!

Thanks for posting the trip report. It would be great if Revel really did turn it around. They should try to finish the floors of unfinished rooms since they're filling up what they have. The dinner at Resorts sounds like a great deal. I agree with you about that end of the boardwalk. There's a lot of upside especially if the proposed entertainment and shopping area gets built near Revel.

I've wanted to give revel a try but just seems far away from everything with dining options that don't really suit me. Seems like you're in the same boat. However, the place is gorgeous and I'd love to give the rooms a shot. Sometimes I like relaxing in the room while looking towards the ocean and revel would probably be best for that. Don't all rooms have ocean view?

Thanks for the trip report. Sounds like you had a nice time and it's always nice to get a way for a few days, especially with this crazy weather over the last few weeks.

Great little get a way. We've always stayed at Showboat, so feel comfortable at that end. May try staying at Revel in the summer, we enjoyed playing there also. Can't wait to walk the boardwalk in some nice weather :)

Did you happen to see Ray Rice Saturday night at Revel. Heard he was arrested.
