Kid Friendly Atlantic City?

We're looking into going to Atlantic City at the end of June, but we have young children. We brought them with us to Atlantic City last summer, on a spur of the moment trip, and what ended up happening was my husband dropped me off at the casinos and took the boys back to the hotel and I had to call him when I was out of money so he could come pick me up. As you can guess, that wasn't fun... And since he wasn't with me, I had no self control and ran out of money in just 45 minutes!

So... This time I was thinking maybe I could check on here to see if anyone knows if there are casinos that allow children (they are 3 and 5) in them with parents during any time of the day. I was told that some casinos on Vegas allow this, so I was thinking maybe the same can be said for Atlantic City.

My husband and I both love the casinos, and as I said, without him, I have no self control and end up out of money in no time, so it would be really great if there was some way we could go to the casinos together, kids in tow.

I really don't think Atlantic City is the place to go with children, especially if you like the casinos, like we do... But we don't have anyone willing to babysit them for us so we can go!

I'd appreciate any info and/or advice that anyone has to offer. Oh yeah, can anyone recommend a family friendly hotel (with and without a casino attached!) on the boardwalk or within a short walking distance of the boardwalk?

Thanks so much!

Advice? How about being a little less selfish and choosing a vacation destination that will appeal to your children this time around?

How about not being so rude? We take our children everywhere with us, including other trips throughout the year. So what is so awful about us wanting to go somewhere we will enjoy? Or is that not allowed in your world? If not, then why not just ignore my post and take your negativity elsewhere?

I sincerely apologize for being rude. It's simply *not* a town designed for parents of very young children who want to gamble ...unless they want to take turns in the casino or arrange for a babysitter.

To answer your question...No, there are not casinos that will allow you to bring your 3 and 5 year old in with you while you gamble.

There are babysitting services--if you call the concierge at one of the hotels, I'm sure they will let you know about babysitters they can arrange for you.

Sunmaide...you will not be able to take children with you while you play...in AC or Vegas. Your best bet is to stay somewhere with a casino and a pool...and take turns with your husband between gambling and keeping the kids busy.

I think what you heard about in Vegas is that some of the casinos have a kids play area where you can drop off the kid while you gamble. No casino will let the kids chill with the parents in the casino. You can walk thru on your way to dinner or a show, but no loitering.

If you feel you must have your husband with you while you gamble, then I suggest a babysitting service as well. The other option is coming up with some system where you can gamble responsibly.

I always stay at casinos, and I don't think any of them in AC are really family friendly. Once I stayed at the Fairfield in, and that was very nice. About 2 blocks from the boardwalk. I have no idea what their rates are tho because my friend has a timeshare there.

ambrva,

Are you thinking of the Skyline Tower or some property other than the Fairfield Inn (budget hotel, not timeshare, the closest of which is several miles away in Absecon)?

Answering my own question...I'm just seeing the official name--"Fairfield Atlantic City at Skyline Tower" (not to be confused with the budget Marriott chain)...

That is the place. Sorry, I didn't know the official name either, we always call it "the fairfield".

But I do think it would be a good place for a family to stay. They gave us a sheet when we checked in detailing all their activities and stuff going on each day for kids.
