Taking a machine out of service at CZR properties

Caesars and Harrahs used to take a slot machine out of service for Diamond and 7 Star players.

If I remember correctly, they would shut the machine down and put a hold on it for an hour or so allowing the player to take a break or go to dinner making sure the machine would be available when they returned.

Do they still offer that service to premium players ?

yes. It's called capping a machine. sevens get up to 4 hours, diamonds get 3 and I think platinums get 2, but I'm not certain about platinums.

Yikes.......To me this seems like a bad Karma situation just waiting to happen. I dont think I would want to hold a machine in that manner....

Mike - Some people dont like to shut a machine, others do it frequently.

Some machines "can't be reserved due to popularity"

I've never heard someone say it was bad Karma though.....
