Revel room prices

This is not a troll question - but i have to ask, whay do you think the room prices are so high even for a basic room and on top of that the resort wont fully be operational. Took a look at rates- in April and a room costs around $900 dollars over the weekend while other properties are nearly half that amount. What are your opinions.

Stay free at a comped room with Trump Taj and check our Revel.

They don't seem to want any tier system at the casino and want the player to earn Resort Dollars. For $900 a weekend I would not choose Atlantic City as a vacation destination.

good question-

Revel claims:

1.only 500 rooms will be ready soft opening weekend

2.They intend to comp 1/2 of rooms

if they have not sold out , somewhere between 250-500 rooms for " Grand soft opening weekend", how will they sell 1,895 rooms, at full capacity, at these prices?

And its not even for the soft opening. If you go into the summer months its pushing nearly a thousand dollars. I know it is the summer and peak travel time but That is insane.

They seem to be looking for a High-Roller market. No catering to the Asian players. No Mini-Bac, no Pai Gow Tiles, sounds like they may not even have a dedicated Asian Pit as the other AC casinos. Several Asian dealers & some others from the Taj applied and were turned down, they don't want 'em. The Buzz that I've heard that for any Comp at all you'll have to play at the $300/hand level or better and then Maybe you'll get a room. At my own level of play looks like all I'll do is walk around the place once and go back out the door to the Taj, SB & Resorts. I can still stay there Free during the week at even my LowBall level.

Sure it's supposed to be an Upscale place, I get it. So is all of City Center in LV and they're still not doing all that good yet. How many High Rollers do these Execs think there are? AC isn't gonna make any Comeback this way. If you really want Players to come to AC & not just stay home in PA and elsewhere, you have to do something to get them to come and Stay & Play. With all the Comps still being cut everywhere, seems that the Execs in the AC casinos just don't get it and never will.

Well, you could shift your play to the optimally upscale, mid strip, center /city center, Vegas located, non-smoking, "COSMOPOLITAN"?

They only lost a few hundred million ,thus far ,with an identical strategy.

I'm sure they will be around for a while?

According to their website they'll have mini-bacc.

And I highly doubt to be comped you'll need a $300+ betting average. My guess in order to get some decent offers you need a $150+ average for 5+ hours a day. But hey, you never know.

really?

i hate to misappropriate the words of the late clara peller, but "where's the beach?"

does nearly every room at the cosmopolitan - and the casino - have ocean views?

The only thing I can think is that they're simply trying to fill it to a certain percentage (of the hotel that is) and are going to rely on foot traffic from other casinos during the first few months since they're new.

They might think it's more beneficial to rent 10 rooms at almost $300 a pop as opposed to as opposed to 20 rooms at $100 a pop. As a regular hotel, I would agree; however, casino resorts are not ordinary hotels.
