Total Rewards Comp Dollars Question

I have just 700 Rewards Credit Balance which is equal to $7. I know you can use them for food, merchandise. But would i be able to use these comp dollars for an actual hotel? Say the total cost of my room was $120. When i get there, i give them my credit card. But if i have money on my TR card, can i use those comp dollars and make my room cost less? Thus say i had $60 in comps on my TR card and the room cost me $120 on my bill, can i use it and thus lower my hotel stay bill to $60? And if yes, would it be possible if say my friend also who has comp dollars to use his card as well during our stay? Like if he has say $30 in comps on his TR card, then we can combine and thus my credit card bill will lower from $120 to $30? Or its only the person who books the room thats allowed?

The reason i ask this is b/c when i went to a buffet with my friend and showed my TR Card, they allowed both of us to use all our comps to lower the price of the buffet for us.

Also, i recalled when going to buffets, its 1:1. But theres stuff where you only get 2:1? Is that the rooms at the casino? What is considered 2:1 and what is 1:1?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, no, yes and no.

As for 2:1 or 1:1, ask on site. Usually, Harrah's owned restaurants and shops are for 1 for 1, but some others not owned by Harrah's are often 2 for 1. Tobacco products are usually 2 for 1.

Thank you. I"m bit confused of the yes, yes, no thing. At first i had no clue why you said this until i saw you went to answer each question individually. I wished i had numbered it instead :)

Can you tell me which part is the no? I think one of your no's was b/c it was a yes to my question about if i can have a friend use his comp dollars and mine together and thus lower the bill?

Are you sure i could use my comp dollars when booking a room? I just spoke to Harrahs on the phone and they told me i can't. That i can only use them when at restaurants and merchandise. I told them the what if i have $30 on my card, would it deduct, and they told me no and whatever rate they provide online, that is how much you pay...

So if i have $200 in comp dollars and want to book a room for $130, they say i can't use my $200 to book a room....

Can someone confirm this?

If you had $200. in comps, you'd probably be offered a comped room in the first place!

Hi, i dont have $200 in comps. I have $7. What i want to know is would i be able to use these comp dollars to lessen the bill i pay on credit card? For example say room cost me $110 and i have $7 on the card. Can i make it where i only get charged $103?

I read someone mentioned, when i check out, then i ask them do deduct my bill by asking them to use my comp dollars on my total rewards card?

I do know for a fact if i book my room online or on the phone, i will get charged whatever the amount is shown. But when i check out, would i be able to get that amt lowered?

So all this is over $7.00? If you're that tight on money save your money and don't go to a casino.

I use to have like $150 in comps last time but never used it and had it expired. I'm going there anyways so i wanted to know if i can use them for the hotel.

I don't know, I never tried, but since $7 is really not even making a dent in your room rate, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Now, if I had $700 in comps, then I would be a little more persistent in finding out before I went ;)

I have been there at least once a month for the past year and they would not let me apply my comp dollars towards the $13/day misc. charges on my comped rooms. Before, they let me pay for my internet charges from my rewards points but not lately. So I just use my comp dollars for food purchases.
